"Sound System" Upgrade

Featured Replies

Hey Briskodians

I get my new superb in 2 weeks and i ordered it with the upgraded Sound System.

But i know for sure that in the long run i will not be satisfied with it (Only bought it to have good place to start and have some of the wire harness ready).

So the questions is:

- The default "Sound System" amplifier under the seat is that reuseable? Or is it too weak?

- Would it be recommended to install a sub in the back? (Preferably an active one.)

- Is there any way to install a center speaker somehow? (It really changes the sound dynamics in a car. It's much better than just having speakers at the side)

- What about speaker sizes? What is the recommended MAX size for installation in the default placeholders for the existing speakers.

- What speaker brands do you recommend?

If you were going to replace the system, I would have ordered without it. Upgrading a car that has this system fitted is far more difficult than one that just has the standard speakers fitted.

The under seat amp, is fed from the headunit via line-outs from the headunit. The headunit because its driving this amp has a totally different setup in its configuration setup, so its not easy to remove the upgraded amplifier. The amp is controlled via canbus, as is the sound profile (bass/treble/balance) etc. The speaker outputs on the headunit are also disabled, so unless you want to do a major rewire/configuration of the headunit you will be limited to replacing the speakers.
