Just a quick question, I'm looking at getting a Hybrid for my Furby and I've got a PD150 turbo for part-ex except... Turbo Dynamics (weapon of choice) no longer take the VGT turbos in as part-exchange.

Can anyone recommend a company that still do part-ex for Hybrids?

I'm having exactly the same issue with the GT1749VA that I just bought. I emailed a number of companies last night and will let you know how I get on.

CR Turbos still do them.

Not much info on their site, but just give them a call.

I think it's around 595 exchange for stage 2.

This is the reply I received this morning from CR Turbos:

'Hello Andrew,

We can certainly overhaul and modify the VW units, we currently do around 10 -15 of these a week (just VW!!) so there reply is not surprising as they are under restraint from Garrett and have no option but to tow the corporate line....We can overhaul and upgrade a functioning unit at the following prices:

Stage 1 - £545.00 + £15.00 Carriage + Vat

Stage 2 - £595.00 + £15.00 Carriage + Vat

Current turnaround is 3-4 days.

All units come with a 12 month warranty which is the same as a new unit.'

Sounds more like it!

No worries! Get in touch with AET Turbos too, they may be a possibility. They quoted me cheaper than CR, but that was for a standard turbo, seems the guy who could quote on any hybridising was out!
