Just got my 53 VRS MOTed & it passed (thank god!!) but I've got an advisory on the front suspension bushes:

Are these the Console bushes?

It seems that every mechanic i ask has never heard of them being called 'Console Bushes' but i read a lot about them on this forum.

I'm pretty sure they need replacing as in wet conditions I've being getting a loud 'rubbery' squeak from the front when going over bumps or when i apply the brakes sharply.

I've ruled out the anti-roll bar links as they were replaced in July.

btw - what price (ball park figure) would it be for them to be replaced & i think i've read somewhere that theres an upgraded version - is this right?

Console bushes

You are looking for Ibiza Cupra R Bushes, they are Solid bushes, where as the skoda ones are webbed.

Let me dig the link out where i got mine and will PM it to you. ask your local garage about fitting costs. i had mine fitted as part of a lot of work i was having done, but he said it didnt take him long.

Mine were changed a couple months ago, Cost me £170 at a VW indy

Your choices are, Standard (Uprated Octy II) bushes, Ibiza Cupra bushes or Powerflex, They now do a proper bush replacement, Instead of the old cows udders!

Oops - forgot to add....

I guess its best to get both done on both sides - one per side yes?

It looks like they arent paired - so i just order 2?

Do Both to be in the safe side, i had a wired pull for a couple of days as he only had time to do the drivers side after mine had gone

Foot down = go left

lift off = straigten up
