Incessant vibration from speak panel on Front passenger side..

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

the speaker cover is doing my nut in...

It is vibrating very badly and it sound s like a humming/buzzing sound. This morning i pushed the speaker cover in whilst driving and it stopped..

I take it i will need to remove the door card and look what's going on underneath??

Anyone else have the same problem?

Cheers

The speaker cover is an integral part of the door card!

Could you have killed the speaker?

Have a look at the rivets holding the speaker bracket - they come loose and cause vibration.

Quick fix is new rivets or nut and bolt

I ended up removing the screws along the bottom of the door card and stuffing in as much of that scrappy recycled packing foam stuff as I could to keep the whole thing under a bit of tension - first 'mod' I did, I reckon... :)

Are you talking about the door card still?

Are you sure they are not Torx screws along the bottom?

If so then don't drill them out whatever you do.

If your door card is riveted on then I suspect somebodys been having

a good old bodge up down there. Whats on the other door...? Is it the same??

If you do not mind the look, try using some blu-tak.

Gently press around the edges of the speaker grill and when this reduces this "buzz", put a blob of blu-tak in the same spot.

The buzz is caused by the grill moving fractionally, acting in the same way the speaker cone works, and creating the buzz; blu-tak is a thermal transducer that will turn this movement into thermal energy, and reduce/remove the buzz.
