That's good news - how come it was built so quickly, was under the impression that order to delivery was 20 weeks plus ?

Well I read somewhere else that 1,4s now get built earlier than the 1,2s?!? So if you ordered a 1,2 it will get delivered AFTER they have built the 1,4s... peculiar. There seems to be no logic in the order they build cars. Maybe the engine factory builds 1,4 and 1,2 engines in turn? Who knows.

Maybe they only have 1.4's in stock

I think because it was a new engine out there wasn't a back log of orders on the 1.4TSi engine. I think if you ordered one today you'd be looking at a 5 month wait as some orders for that engine will have flooded in. My new Yeti should be arriving in December, a Tangerine Elegance 1.4TSi!! Although I know what will happen, I can be certain that it will get bought before I get a chance to drive it! :(

VW build the 1.4TSI (possible at Volkswagen Motorenfertigung, Chemnitz), whereas Skoda build the 1.2TSI at there main plant in Mlada Boleslav.

Big demand now being placed on the 1.2TSI as it finds it's way into more VAG applications (including Audi ) in both 85PS and 105PS variations.
