Featured Replies

Just a bit of advice from you fellow briskodians . . .

Which is better to go for "WINTER TYRES" or "AUTOSOCKS" ? i do about 55 mile round trip to work and back 3-4 times a week some of it side roads , i know the Autosocks are a get out of trouble item and not for use for long periods on tarmac so just wondering what was the best to go for & which are the best winter tyres ? i have heard good things about the Vredesteins but there are that many to choose from now :S

winter tyres by a long long long long way.

socks are great on snow, but once those roads clear the socks will disintgrate on the road surface, so youwill be forever taking them off then back on etc etc

Socks are only used to get you home in bad snow conditions, and are OK if that is all you need .They also have a speed limit.

The socks have a mximum speed if I'm not wrong. Max 30 mph i think.......

Winter tyres is the best anyhow, can be dangerous without....

Winter tyres is the better solution but at least 4x the cost of some socks.

Mine is a company car so I can't be swapping out wheels and tyres, hence socks for me.

If this was my own car, i'd prefer to have two sets of rims - some super sticky (think Advan Neovas) for the summer and some proper winter tyres for the cold months.

HTH.

the snowsocks got me out of trouble a few times last year whn i had the 1 series.

but it was a apin putting them on and off
