I was wondering if anyone had picked up any news about when or if the Fabia Sport (as on the Fabia microsite) will arrive here. I remember a dealer mentioning October a while ago, but I've not seen anything since.

That would be me then Back in June I asked Skoda UK customer services about this model having seen it in Prague and they said they had no plans to bring it to the UK. Then a few weeks ago I contacted them again after seeing the new ad and microsite, where it's described as "coming soon". They said it would be launched in 2011 but gave no further details. Given the demand issues they're experiencing at the moment, I'm not that surprised in a lot of ways.

I've compared the spec of the Sport (going off the Czech site) against the SE and Elegance and it's sort of half-way between the two, closer to the Elegance, but with the steel pedals, body kit and 17" Trinity alloys, and sports seats. It's also only available in about 4 colours, all with a different colour roof. All the exterior elements (bar the silver roof) are available from retailers so you could sort of do your own, if you really wanted to. But it would cost around a grand to do it.
