Couple of queries

Featured Replies

Afternoon all,

This isn't so much a problem just a query....

Quite regularly when I start the engine after being on a drive the car idles at around 1100-1200rpm, when it does this I push the accelerator up (yes up, put my foot underneath) then the revs drop down to below 1000rpm. Is this normal or something I shouldn't worry about?

Oh also whilst I am here..

When turning either left or right but typically more when I turn left, there is a slight knock/creak that sounds like it's coming from the drivers side front wheel/suspension or whatever else is there. Again, is this a common problem?

Thanks in advance. emoticon-0148-yes.gif

1. Sounds like your accelerator pedal is a bit sticky, or possibly the sender is out of position or has lost calibration.

2. Suspension bushes - probably the console ones - would be the first place to look...

Brilliant, I will be straight on the phone to the main dealer I bought the car from 3 weeks ago emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Don't know if this is relevant but when I mount the curb to park, the suspension is nigh-on non existent.... But if you look at the car from the front it isn't sitting lower on one side or leaning etc.
