felicia stop solenoid where is it?

Featured Replies

have a t reg felicia diesel been told that the stop solenoid does not work where is it on the pump? can still hear the pump clicking when ignition is turned on and off is there another solenoid underneath or somewhere

I've not had my hands on a diesel engine to confirm this, but it looks like the stop solenoid is on top at the end of the fuel pump, and the control unit for it is attached underneath the pump body. I wouldn't be surprised if it's the control unit making a bit of noise - at a guess an internal relay for either driving the solenoid or for the enable signal from the immobiliser. It may also be worth bearing in mind that the solenoid won't operate anyway if there's an immobiliser fault, so hopefully you can rule that out first.

its under a security cover on the end of the pump removal of the pump is the only easy way to remove the cover as its held on with shear bolts and some are very hard to get at in situ
