I've had a search around on the forum , but I'm not having much luck finding any info on the White MK1 Octavia vRS UK Police cars.

Can anyone provide any onfo on these , ie which forces used them? , how many were in the UK? , what were the registration numbers etc. Some period photo's would be good. I nearly bought one quite a few years back but the front was stoved in so that put me off a bit !

don't know reg numbers ect, but any white one that isn't the limited edition WRC is an ex police... they also used different colours, black silver ect, we had an unmarked black one here in Cumbria.

Thanks for the reply. If I remember correctly the white police cars were release before the WRC , and were white from the factory. I agree any white car that is not a WRC is an ex police car. I'm only interested on info on the white cars. From what I can remember it was only a few northern forces that had them , maybe Cleveland or Cheshire? That said I'm sure the City of London Police may have had one.

I spotted a white vRS in Wimborne Dorset/Hampshire the otherday. Was quite shocked when I noticed it.

If I remember correctly the REG for the hampshire vRS's started OU.

west midlands police still have 3 marked white cars BU54***

They still have mk1s in northampton ,see them quite regularly

I'm suprised to hear some are still in service - what age to the police normally retire the cars?

Has anyone got any pic's of the cars in the full livery that can post up?

They still have the white ones here in Leicester, but most of the unmarked ones are silver.

Im happy to post a picture and supply force information etc ill just have to dig it out

Not a vRS but I own an Ex Herts Police Elegance 1.8T 4x4 Dog Carrier on a 53 plate, I know that they had a few of these as dog vans, 53 plates were white then they got 55 plates in silver.

Hi, i have an 02 reg Silver ex police.

Could you tell me do you have a button either side of the carpetted centre console with the gear stick on, i do and i'm intrigued as to their function. Obviously they have been disconnected now.

I bought my car from a film company who bought it from the police to use for TV and he didn't know their function

I have no buttons either side but i do have one near the headlight switch, this button was called 'Run Stop' basically so they could leave the car running whilst getting out and locking it.

ive replaced the centre console trim pannel because it had a slice missing and also have a new centre console ready to fit becuase the are slices either side of the ashtray missing.

Need an A pillar trim and steering column surround but you dont really notice its just me being picky.

Not really relevant but I once owned an ex-police Octavia TDI, think it was used by detectives but it had all sorts of extra things like massively chunky tyres, headlight guards, steel panel under the engine, knackered boot lifters and child locks on when I collected it!

Just to resurrect an older thread.

Had a '54 plate Mk1 VRS Police car with the "Battenburg colors" overtake me this morning in Northampton on a emergency call.

I haven't seen this car for a while and thought it had been put out to grass, as plain clothes mk2 octavias usually doing the rounds.

Kent still have a couple of the silver vRS estates... but most of them are shot-to-s***!

I have an ex Skoda demonstrator 1.8T 4x4 that is now an ambulance responder car on a Y plate (2001) only has 68.000 on the clock too :-)

The buttons are usually for gun locks in the boot, all other controls are off the main panel
