Fabia Mk1 Combi/Estate rear speaker sizes?

Featured Replies

I have a Mk1 Fabia Combi in Classic trim. I've searched the forum, and the rest of the internet, a number of times but can't seem to find anyone asking this specific question; the Combi seems to be different (I think) to the hatch and saloon as they require 4-inch (10 cm) speakers (according to the custom Pioneer speakers available), and the later versions of the car seem to have speakers fitted in the doors instead of the boot trim.

I've looked under the trim in my boot and found screw holes and an elongated grille, so circular 4-inch speakers will not fit. Measuring the extremities of the grille space it seems to be 6 inches by 3.5 inches -- but where on earth can you get 3.5x6-inch speakers? Does anyone have a higher trim model, or has anyone fitted speakers into these spaces? If so, can you tell me whether it takes 4x6 speakers? I imagine a slightly larger speaker will fit happily under the grille but I don't know whether the screw holes will line up. :wonder:

Go to a vehicle dismantler and get speakers from a 'Comfort' or similar model that was fitted with rear speakers.

Edit: Or someone breaking one on fleabay?

Thanks for the response, but any idea what they are? are they actually 3.5x6inch? That would really suck... a Fabia Estate Comfort in my local scrap would be a miracle... :dull:

Only 4 and a half years late. But hey, for anyone that's interested they are 4" x 6" speakers
