hi all, newbie here, great site with a lot of hints and tips, glad i found it, however i still need further help.

i am new to to the site and seem to have read the whole t'internet from one end to the other. I have been trawling the manual and internet trying to find how to change the settings for 1 click, all doors unlocked using remote.

i have read in many threads about the settings section using the rocker switch and bottom button on the wiper stalk to access and alter the settings and i have been trying for hours but absolutley nothing happens, no extra settings open up and it is doin' my bloody head in,can anyone help.

the car is a 59 plate octavia 1.9tdi elegance.

does it matter if car is running, or ignition on but engine off etc?

should the display be set at a certain position in the trip computer menu?

is it definitley the wiper stalk, not indicator stalk?

any further assistance would be greatly appreciated, i realise that this subject has probably been covered to death in the past.

cheers

paul

Hi and welcome aboard.

First things first. To get to the settings your car must have a maxidot display, not just the trip computer. The maxidot is a large rectangular display in the centre of the speedo, and looks like a large dot matrix display. If you have a display that looks like an LCD clock then you cannot alter these settings yourself. Maxidot was not standard on the elegance, so would need to have been spec'd as an optional extra.

cheers, that seems to answer the question, i think i do not have maxidot, given that if this is an upgrade and i drive a company car, the likelihood of it being spec'd up is improbable. it does look like an lcd clock, not a series of small dots making up the display.
