How many airbags does an Elegance Yeti have?

Featured Replies

I've gotten a bit confused over time. Does the Elegance have nine in total?

  1. Knee
  2. Driver dash
  3. Passenger dash
  4. Driver side seat
  5. Passenger side seat
  6. Rear passenger side L
  7. Rear passenger side R
  8. Curtain head bag L
  9. Curtain head bag R

Or do we not get the curtain ones?

Edit: changed Head bags to Curtain

In the brochure from Yeti E it states:

Curtain airbags

Driver and passenger front and side airbags

And from E up it says:

Driver knee airbag

And under Passive safety it states:

Airbags – Yeti is fitted with six airbags as standard on base trim, with an additional driver’s knee airbag standard on S, SE and Elegance. Standard airbags on all models are driver and passenger front and side airbags with curtain airbag.

So yes that does make it seven as you stated Paul.

Ah so the two we are not getting is the side seat based ones for the rear passengers. I just needed to READ the brochure! Doh. Peculiar that you can't even have them as an option. Normally the curtain airbags are an option (which few people tick). All in all I think the curtain ones are probably worth more than the little side rear ones as at least they protect all people's heads, front and back.

[As an aside does it irritate anyone else that Skoda brochures refer to the car as "Yeti is fitted with..." Instead of "The Yeti is fitted with..."

Regardless of the number of airbags, the Yeti is one of the safest cars that you can buy:

I don't know how rear passenger seat airbags could be fitted to the Yeti, given that the rear seats can so easily be removed.

Rear side airbags are in the side trim under the seat belt mount, not in the seat itself as with the fronts.
