Turbo manifold inlet/outlet?

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

What is the pipe called that goes from the red circled part of the manifold?

Where does it go from the manifold?

What does it do?

Any idea where i can get one from?

I have recently changed my turbo, and the pipe from my old turbo doesn't fit, as the inlet/outlet on the new turbo manifold is flat, where as my old turbo has a raised inlet/outlet as pictured.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance, Matt.

Thats the EGR pipe, goes onto the EGR valve if its not been deleted. If you have fitted a PD150 turbo they are different to the PD130 so will need the matching pipe unless yours is a BLT engine with the EGR cooler then some fabrication is needed.

I ordered a new turbo from LDS, an it fits fine.

The only thing that doesn't fit is the pipe that goes on top of the manifold, as my new turbo an manifold is flat on top, where as my old turbo is raised on the hole, like the one pictured. I hope I make sense so far.

I have been told by the garage that all I need to get is a pipe for that turbo.

If it helps, I've gotta 07 plate vRS SE, which is BLT engine code.

I have a complete EGR & EGR cooler setup from a PD150 ARL. Just not sure if its got the correctly angled piece for the connection to the exhaust manifold as circled above. When you say "flat" do you mean pointing straight up in your picture - as in back toward the bulkhead, or straight up toward the inlet manifold?

Edit: OK just got the bits out the box and took this photo. The EGR cooler bolts to the inlet manifold and I am holding the EGR pipe from the end of the cooler, to where the exhaust manifold would be by hand. It suggests the angle of connection to the turbo is kind of offset. Not sure if this helps.

Sounds like you hav been given an ASZ turbo instead of a BLT one, so you need I would think either a delete kit or something making up.

So of I've been given an ASZ turbo, can't I just buy tha ASZ EGR pipe?

Or are the connections different on the EGR side of things?

If I wanted to delete it, wha would I need to do exactly?

Is the EGR angle on the new turbo straight up and slightly away from you (using the first picture as a guide) ??

If so, then this would tie up with the angle my EGR cooler pipe appears to connect anyway.

Pretty sure the ASZ pipe wont mate up with the BLT cooler, the ASZ doesnt have the electronic throttle body you have. I come accross this issue when fitting a hybrid to a BLT.

For EGR delete you would need a kit from the likes of Allard and a remap to remove the EGR function.

But read what Jason has asked, he might have the solution.
