Leather and MFSW. Worth waiting for?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Got around 5k to play with and looking at octy 2. Already seen a few elegance at this price, but none with the above features (1.9 derv engine of choice).

Should I keep looking until one with these features turns up, or was there not that many with those options anyway. These features are not a dealbreaker, but are things I would like.

Not seen any L+K either, which i know would have them!

Only thing I dont want is ESP!

Maxidot is quite rare on the older / lower spec Octavia's.

It can be retrofitted - at a cost though.

The difference in appearance between maxidot and the standard non-maxidot LCD display is more noticeable on the pre-facelift Octavia's.

To be fair, once you've adjusted all the settings to your requirements it doesn't provide that many more advantages.

I misread the title as 'Leather and NSFW - worth waiting for?'; the answer being 'undoubtedly'!

40 psi in the NSRW should just keep the disc off the floor! :giggle:

If no maxidot fitted is the info displayed between tacho and speedo smaller, so there appears to be a blank on the lower part?

The bottom half has warning lights for those issues handled by the maxidot including (from memory!) wash fluid low (if fitted), oil level low, door open, light bulb out, low fuel.

To answer your original question - I have MFSW and leather on my 2010 Elegance. Was it worth it? MFSW and maxidot - definitely. Jury is still out on the leather - SWMBO likes it but I don't think it is worth paying for over the cloth trim. Certainly don't even think of it without heated seats - the leather is fffffffrrrreeeeeeeezing cold on an icy morning. I have yet to sample their delights on a hot sunny day!!

Leather is nice but expensive - not sure whether I would pay for it again.

MFSW is a no brainer.

I think leather is cheap on the VRS (£800) and much better than those pale seats that just look as though they will look grubby in a year or two. My opinion of course!

My L&K has black leather with alcantara central panels. I must say I really like it! The alcantara stops my bum from slipping about when I go round corners. The leather is better quality than in my RX-8, but not as nice as my Beemer was. One thing I've noticed though, the side bolsters are pretty ineffective. Maybe I need to go slower round corners...

I have yet to test how well alcantara cleans up after a child has got mud/sick/crumbs on them :smirk:

I noticed that the side bolsters were not as deep as my pre FL Elegance and put it down to a FL update. Sat in my mate's FL Elegance with cloth trim and they are as deep as my old one.

Looks like a different seat design with leather.

Must be a leather seat thing then, as mine is pre-FL.
