Fitting new exhaust...advice please

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Need some advice on exhaust fitting please. Going to attempt to fit this weekend my new Piper Turbo back with De cat exhaust system. Before i do so need to clarify an issue.

On the new exhaust there are two screw holes in the down pipe and one has a screw with hex head to blank off one of the holes. Confusing thing is, which hole do you blank off as I thought that there were 2 sensors that plug into the exhaust?

Can anyone advise?

Car is an 02 Octavia VRS

Cheers

Throw the blank away, you need two holes.

cheers kenny. just really wasnt sure when i opened it up. cannot wait to get it fitted now.

see your octy is in diamond silver aswell - NICE!

personally unless you've got a ramp I'd pay someone to do it. My back box was a right pain to fit but fortunately they only wanted £20 to do the job

haha its funny you say that. i organised to get it fitted tomorrow by a mechanic mate of mine who has a ramp. tried this afternoon to get the bolts off of the turbo to downpipe and fudge me they are welded to the fecker. they just will not shift. so a bit of encouragement with some heat should get it off.only got the gasket today anyway so no real rush.

also got some shiny new vrs mats as well. saw a thread on here not too long ago saying they couldn't get hold of them anymore but i got mine pretty quickly.
