I thought we could check what people from different part of the world pay for their scouts. I am from Norway and we have extremely expensive cars.

In GBP with todays currency I pay 47500 for my Scout... :S

But in Norway you are all rich!!

I paid 27.000 but with all options. Base price for Scout is 22.000 pounds of which 27.5% is duties and taxes.

In order to understand this price and make it meaningful could you please tell us what the

average wage is in your country.

Demand is outstripping supply on the Scout - and many other Octavia models.

This pushes up the value of used Scouts which in turn convinces prospective buyers to buy new and therefore extend lead times.

Those not willing to wait pay over the odds for dealer stock or buy elsewhere.

It's a vicious circle.

The Scout is great value for money new and used - but not as good as it was a few years ago.

I was considering ordering a new Scout next year, but when I saw one advertised locally on a 10 plate with only 6K miles on the clock at under £15.5K I snapped it up.

A dealer was also interested in the car, who I'm sure could have probably added on a couple of thousand clear profit selling it on.

Ok, if I'd ordered new I would have added a couple of options, such as Bluetooth, but I can add this myself anyway and have thus avoided a looooong waiting time for a new car.

I am not sure what average wage is. Maybe around 40000 GBP...

The average UK salary is 25,534 GBP (down 2,600 from the previous year).

I think Norwegians pay more tax than us.

On the other hand, the Norwegian government invested most of their oil revenues in ensuring everyone would have a proper pension. We just spent ours :S

I think the average wage here, not counting polititions or anyone hired by them, is around 700 euros/month.

Here it's around 220 pounds, i.e 270 euro, and I drive the only Scout in the country

But there are loads of Octavia and FL octy Taxies, and 2 Yeti.
