Where to buy a couple of things ?

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I just noticed that my VRS doesn't have a spare wheel and I'd like to buy one as I had a blow out with my wifes C4 picasso and it was a nightmare as it didn't have a spare wheel either and I dint want to be in the situation again.

Can anyone recommend the best place to buy one?

I've seem a couple on ebay with the kit.

And I'm also after a boot liner after getting it filthy today after the golf..

Cheers

Gary

For the wheel trye the salvage yards & dont forget the jack & wheelbrace which may be missing from your car as well

You can get both from your Skoda dealer...

I would prefer a new wheel and I've seen something like This on eBay.

I'm not had any experience from purchasing items from the dealers but I'd imagine like all other Main Dealers they'd charge a hefty premium would they not?

Cheers for the replies

I'd say ebay as well, however probably worth checking how much the dealer would charge so you can see if the ebay ones are a good price

Skoda accessories are not always more expensive than ebay. And they are usually better quality/fit.

If you go to http://www.skoda.co.uk/brochures/default.aspx , there are pdfs of the brochures with prices at the end.

Cheers for the link, I'll add it to my favourites

Try http://www.skospares.com/ Ive found it easier to call than use the mail enquiry form.

I got my spare wheel, tyre, jack and kit etc from a Skoda dealer at what I considered to be a very reasonable price. The scrappies seem to be wise to people wanting cheap spare wheels these days. Ask the dealer - you have nothing to lose.

BTW I'm talking here about steel for the spare wheel. Alloy spares are a different ball game.

I did call my local dealer in Hamilton and he was about the same price (£120) for the tyre and jack kit so I'll get it from there.

But the rubber boot liner was £57 so much cheaper on eBay so I'll buy one from there.

Just got mine from the dealer this week proper size tyre on steel rim plus kit includes jack, plastic bolt for holding spare wheel in place, polystyrene insert and that litlte belt thingy for holding all in place £137 ish. For sale in three years time..unless I buy another. Just got to find somewhere to store the enormous poly insert for the compressor and can of filler.

Don't forget to swap the wheel bolt cover extractor and wheel bolt removal tool over as well

Thanks for the info regarding roofbox!

I need a dog guard (barrier) for my Skoda Octavia lift back.

Skoda UK charge 120 Pounds, Skoda Australia 489 Pounds ($AUD782!!!!).

Plastic Boot liner, Skoda UK 50 Pounds vs Skoda Australia 120 Pounds.

I do not want to spend almost 500 Pounds for a dog guard and I hope Roofbox company will be able to ship overseas, of course I have to add shipping but should still be well under the quoted Australian price.

Cheers.

I've bought various bits and pieces from them and always found their prices keen and delivery quick. Hope they can help you.

I just got an e-mail, Roofbox company only deliver within Europe.

But they recommended someone that sell one of the dog guards here for 80 Pounds.

Have not even got my car yet and already been helped a lot from this forum.

Cheers.

Okay, so they only deliver in Europe. Wont they let you arrange your own UPS collection of the item?

Andy

Do not know about UPS collection.

Could always ask a private person to send the stuff I guess but will try to find it over here first.

They do not seem to pass on the strong AUD$ exchange rate very quickly down under so everything (almost everything) seems to be cheap overseas.

Mick.

I would like to buy the spare wheel and tool kit to fit the 18" vrs wheels. Can I buy a space saver wheel complete with tools or is it a full sized wheel? Need a parts code as well as I may get the better half to get me this for Chritmas.
