steering with horn at the same time

Featured Replies

hello,

I'm having a trouble with my Octavia...when I steer, specially in winter time, the horn starts buzzing. last time I had to punch hard the airgab (horn button) to stop...

any ideas?

regards

Are there not some slip rings/disks behind the horn button on the center or of the steering wheel... maybe they are dirty / damaged?

However I guess this area is close to the drivers side airbag, so take care before playing...... otherwise it might end in :'(

i often find pulling over to look at pics of prety ladies helps rather then trying to drive at the same time :giggle: (Sorry couldn't help it, i need cheering up)

If the steering wheel has an airbag then the connections for the horn do pass through the slip ring.

I think the most likely cause of your problem is the horn switch itself as if you punch the horn button it stops. As mbanes indicated, you need to be cautious when removing the airbag and must disconnect the battery.

thank you for your precious help. Just wanted to know :) I suspected it was something metalic connected to the horn and steering. I will not touch that area, I think it's very sensitive and leave it to the professionals that work with that everyday.

cheers mates
