Faulty door locked fixed and Bolero flashed!

Featured Replies

I've had a problem with the central locking recently. The passenger rear door would intermittely either fail to lock or (rather more inconveniently) unlock. This was promptly diagnosed by Rainworth Skoda as a faulty door lock assembly. This was duly ordered up and fitted today - thanks guys.

Whilst the car was in for the door lock fitting I enquired if a firmware upgrade was available for the Bolero (I recall reading on here about a firmware update some weeks ago). I collected the car this evening and am pleased to say the Bolero is massively quicker when both loading and swapping tracks from the SD card. It still doesn't allow proper "random play" between folders, but nonetheless is a massive improvement.

All in all well worth checking for a firmware update, should your Bolero be frustatingly slow when accessing the SD card and/or changing tracks. Just waiting for a larger SD card to arrive now!

Just filled up an 8 Gb micro SD card from my phone. Again this works very well, even though filled right up to capacity.

I was looking to retrofit the MDI interface, but as the SD card now works as intended, it seems somewhat unnecessary.
