Low vRS's on 17" Spyders

Featured Replies

I've found a set of 17" Spyders and will be fitting them in 2 weeks or so (they have to be powder coated and have new tyres fitted).

How low can you go without rubbing? I was thinking about adding a bit of stretch to the tyres to help with the rubbing.

What's the standard tyre size and what should I get to help rubbing?

Ideally I want to wind the Weitec coilovers right down as well as removing the rear cup to make it go lower.

Anyone got any photos of a vRS with 17" Spyders lowered and know how low they are in millimetres?

Ive got some pics of mine on coilies on 17 rs4s?

lowered 40mm front and rear.

Any rubbing issues? What size tyres?

Lowered on 50mm spax springs and Koni FSD's

You`ll need to worry about sump issues before scrubbing TBH. I`m running S3 wheels, and they dont really scrub at all, however, i`d not want to go any lower for fear of catching the sump on things. Can run 205/40/17 or 215/40/17. I prefer 215, feels better.

how low do you want to go?

I'm slammed on the FK's on 16's and I scrub on most speedbumps.

that's about as low as it is safe to go :)

Might have one of the originally produced Fabia metal sump guards coming up soon, if anyone's interested?

Was going to go on a friend's Fabia, but he's not sure whether he's keeping the car now.

Drop me a PM if you're interested.

Cheers,

Steve
