Outlook Express to Full Fat Outlook

Featured Replies

Well, courtesy of my Mitac Mio pocket pc, i have Full Fat Outlook and activesync to install.

Report of the Mio and Tom Tom Satnav to follow.

What I cant manage to to is transfer my hotmail email accounts from express into outlook.

I have quite a few hotmail addresses and cant be bothered doing them manually.

Is there a way to transfer accross account info?

Thanks In Anticipation,

Jono

You cant access hotmail accounts from the full blown outlook, only standard pop3 internet servers. Even in outlook express hotmail support was only ever beta.

You should be able to access Hotmail from Outlook - I do.

Just Add new Account - HTTP and select Hotmail from the dropdown.

The only snag is that MS have (or are about to) disabled WebDAV access to FREE Hotmail accounts to reduce spam, at this time though my free account is still accessible from Outlook.

[EDIT - Sorry just re-read your original post, not sure if you can transfer settings, I thought it would be possible but I'll need to have a play /EDIT]

Just tried si's suggestion in outlook 2003, and it works. Perhaps its missing from earlier versions.

Managed to add one Hotmail account to Outlook

Tried another two and they have both failed, claimed the server was offline or something

Probably no point bothering...MS are to disable WebDAV access in April for existing subscribers unless you upgrade each account to Hotmail Plus at a cost of
