oh, Erm, should i committ to a Yeti

Featured Replies

Cos looks like my beloved Galaxy is probably beyond economic repair regarding getting through our rather tough Government run MOT test,

S o I might need to speculate on another motor, bugger, hoped for another year out of her.

So FWD for Def

Diesel for Def

SE or Eleg

Greenline or 2.0Cr

Hmmm

Suggestions welcome

I'm waiting for 2nd Yeti, so... :)

I have the 2.0d in SE.

Greenline or 2.0d? Depends on how many miles you do. I do 20,000 p/a and I wanted the extra power to make journeys quieter and more comfortable. Small miles, go Greenline, more miles go 2.0d. That would be my thinking.

SE or Elegance - Depends on how many toys you want. I think the SE is very well specced and so could not justify the Elegance. Leather and Xenons would have been nice but they were not that big a deal for me. The difference in S and SE was more important for me and I think the leap in specs in bigger there than SE to Elegance.

I can't comment on the Greenline, but I have the 140bhp CR Engine and it's great. 22,000 miles up and it's loosened up nicely, goes like a train but will give 50+ on a run. I bought an ex demo, so Elegance with a few toys and it's great. I have got through a few cars over the past few years, but I'm keeping this one for a good while.

Handles great, really comfortable and classy inside and if you take the seats out will swallow just about anything.

As for being a 2 Skoda family, we bought my wife a Roomster a couple of years back and it was that got me looking at Skodas for a replacement for my car.

Choose your model based on your needs and wants, but you won't regret going for a Yeti.

Thanks EdmundSlackBladder,

I had come to the same conclusion regarding the SE trim level being "optimal" for me at least.

Since I mostly only "tootle" the Greenline would probably be fine, anyway I do not find it lacking in the Octavia.

Plus the lower tax group /extra mpg with the 1.6 CR is a wee sweetner ( for me leastwise)

and perhaps one DSG in the family is enough. :S

There happens to be a Ex Demo for sale locally 2.0 CR in SE trim.....Hmmmmm

Advertised at £17,495.00?........Hmmmmm

Have 4 Skoda's in the family as a whole at the moment emoticon-0136-giggle.gif

Dad - Superb II

Son - Fabia I

Wife - Fabia II FL

Me - until next week anyway Yeti (car sharing from then until emoticon-0112-wondering.gif )

Decided to P/X my current SM for another SM emoticon-0103-cool.gif but a several month wait in between the two events emoticon-0120-doh.gif

If you don,t need the ground clearance and your not regularly climbing hills, then I'd go for the 1.6TDI GreenLine in Elegance spec (think it makes more sense thank an SE with options come resale time) as it should be the cheaper option to run.

Regards,

TP

Hi Dieseldogg,

Had the 2WD SE 110bhp 2.0 Diesel since June this year, done nearly 5k miles, only 1 minor problem - a rear electric window that would shut within 1st few daysof ownership.

I was sceptical of the 250NM torque at first but like many things about this car it has suprised me in how it makes driving on the motorway, even fully loaded, seem effortless and very hushed.

Rear parking sensors are brilliant and come into their own when parallel parking in my street in the dark. Occasionally use cruise control , the tinted rear windows are a bonus for my 2 huskies who like to keep cool in the warmer months.

The elegance would have been even better (xenon lights, hill hold etc) but funds wouldn't stretch that far (not with 3 kids lol)

Hope you do decide to join the Yeti legions:)

PS

I have just added a front mounted grenade launcher to my putitive spec sheet.

Or perhaps a NASA spec laser
