service plan

Featured Replies

Been to my local dealer today, rainworth skoda with a few issues that ive got with my vrs se. Ive noticed a knocking from the passenger side front and rear, the metal on the rear passenger side shock is showing. The brakes are spongy and the servo is whining. Also the dreaded stutter.

I bought the car in april and have done nearly 10k miles in since and its due its 40k service. The guy at the service desk was very helpfull and booked the car in for the said problems (done under warranty i hope!) and mentioned the service plan they offer.

Its £299 for 2 services, one being the major service which i need and the other being a small service which ever comes first. Bearing in mind the major service is £240 on its own i opted for the service plan. I then said i will need a new cam belt next may and he told me you get £100 worth of vouchers with the service plan to spend on any part and i can use this to put towards the cambelt.

Great service from rainworth skoda and i would recomend them to anyone. My car has been back there enough times in the 8 months of ownership!

Just thought id let people know if there due a service as this plan just makes sense.

Cheers, jay.

The one I got (elsewhere) was for 2 years/20,000 miles at £299 - that will do me two yearly Inspection services at the present mileage rate and I'm hoping brake fluid too - and I separately negotiated a £150 voucher for the cambelt.

Yeah that sounds about the same thing i just didnt word it right. £150! they said i'll get a £100 voucher, cant complain though!

Still good value for money. They also offered me 2 years m.o.t tests for £82 but i wasnt that interested.

Lucky you - I only got a three month guarantee...

Were did you buy it from? I got a year, its an aa gold warranty and even covers the turbo! So far ive had done under warranty:

New stereo

New aerial

Rattle from dash x 2 (had to put £80 towards)

Rattle from exhaust x 2

And hopefully the above problems before the warranty runs out. They are really good at rainworth skoda, they dont ask question and get the work done.

While i was in there they had a mk 2 fabia vrs in the show room. It was gloss black with a white roof, gloss black alloys, tints and lowered (i think). Im not a fan of the new one but that looked awesome B)

The car did cost me £9700 with a revo remap done at the same time tho :o

Mine came from the garage I use in Gloucestershire - turns out they're not part of the Skoda used car warranty scheme despite being listed as such at Skoda's website. Don't believe everything you read at the latter...
