Hi, Trying to do the right thing for my new ride. Doing the necessary fluids and filters. I've applied for the freedom thing on here but I'm waiting for it to kick in so I'm posting here apologies if thats not right. I have changed the oil and oil and fuel filters. the car wont start now cos I guess the fuel pump is dry. I tried a few times before realising the filter needs filling, I have done this now but still wont start. I am guessing I need to prime it so is there a bit of kit I need to do this? whats it called? I could probably rent one from a local motor factors tomorrow.

Also the oil beep and light is coming on whilst trying to start. Should I fill the oil filter 'socket' with oil? I have also just found a rubber O ring in the filter pack, is this supposed to go between the metal filter cap and the body? I put 4.5L straight in the the oil filler hole on top of the engine, do I need to prime this filter area as well? I tried starting about 5 times but didn't want to over do it, hopefully I haven't done any damage. Not used to these new fangled jobs, I've been working on the far more agricultural VW T25 camper for the last 10 years!

Cheers Bob
