What kind of events are out there ?

Featured Replies

Hi Folks,

I've only driven on a three sisters track day but that was about 10 years ago now, been a passenger at the Nurburgring, and went to some kind of event at flukeborough... some kind of on road/off road rally event.... but those cars were a bit more specific for the task and there was a wee bit more airbourne gravel for my liking

so.....

what options are there for tarmac event to get to know the handling of your car and have some fun ?

what happens at the airfield events

are track days still popular in winter with freezing cold tarmac ?

if you could point me towards any options, dates, websites, or threads on the kind of events I could book in for it would be most appreciated !

many thanks

Paul

Hi Paul,

I have done two or three airfield track days and a similar number of 'action' days at Castle Combe.

In my opinion you should opt for the airfield days. Lots of space if things don't go according to plan, lots of time on track (open pit lane), normally a great range of hardware on display and a good dose of gentlemanly conduct.

The airfield days I have done have been with other Briskodians and run by Motorsport Events. Well run events and safety focussed. Again, in my opinion it is good to go with a few other folk to pool resources in terms of tools, knowledge etc.

Where are you based? It's worth keeping an eye on the Track Day Action section to see if anything pops up near to you

Roomsters are not the usual kind of car seen on trackdays.............................

Indeed. Not all about the power and handling though eh Bernie. Remember the two lads in the 106 @ Colerne?:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Hairpin on the door handles anyone?

Yes, thats our own Devere, bless him. His Mrs. lets him loose once a year and this is what he gets up to.

The 106, yes that was a cracker and only a 1litre.
