Better to buy LED Can-Bus bulbs

I got these for my Octavia which have 2 leds none directly to the front ( no need for the Octavia)

For the Superb you can get ones that have one or 2 leds to the front

Here is a couple pictures

mtec 8smd chip LED

Would this fit for the pilot light? come with 8 SMD chip. I presume it would be bright enough?

They should be fine

They should be fine

Thanks for the confirmation.

Was wondering aloud if anyone had picture with these on... didn't want to order things that doesn't turn out as expected, esp when it's going to be ship to Singapore.

Cheers

With ANY other bulb I would fully agree, with the DRL however it is not there to enable you to see anything but purely so you can be seen.

They are nowhere as bright as the OE bulb, this is exaggerated a little in the above photo as the camera position was biased towards the OE bulb, the Mtec bulbs are a slightly better colour (pure white with no blue tint would be perfect for me) these will therefore NOT be staying in the car, but they will do until I find something better with a pure white light.

As for the side/parking lights I saw my OE ones in the dark the other night and they are very white, much more so than the photo appears.

Personally I would not buy ANY Mtec or Xtec bulbs again

Exactly, which is why I'd stick with the OEM bulbs. They are much brighter so you will be easier to see.

This may not be the best picture as the sun is shinning on the Octavias front, you can see the sun on the bumper.

I do agree that even this type of led is not as strong as the original bulb but it´s almost.

I like my Mtec's, I think they look way better than the standard yellows, I'll admit that the little sidelight ones are not very bright but so what, they are only there for legal reasons. They do blend with the HID's though and that's what I wanted.

Can you give me a link where you bought these, these look perfoect, im looking to replace the DRLs in my superb 2, I have the Xenon AFS headlights but all the other bulbs being halogen make it look a bit "cheap", You say there is a superb version with bulbs to the front and this is canbus error free without modification?

Hi, I bought them here in Portugal at a cost of 12€ a pair.

I have LEDS in all places

You need CAN-BUS, so will not show error indication, on your headlights and taillights including rear plate lights.

On the rear plate I had to put a resister also along with 2 canbus bulbs.

You also need to put canbus bulbs soo will not show up on vagcom/shop scan on your wing mirror poddle lights ( the same leds above are great because the led is pointing down)

Door panels also needs canbus.

The interior front/back lights also need , the center one , canbus( at least for the octavia) because after closing the car they stayed a tad lit up as if they were consuming energy.

The other reading lights are single non canbus led.

The boot lights and dash storage only normal led.

heres some pictures

Hi.Coold you tell me what resister you are using at the rear plate led?And what is the plastic that you have outside the resister? You dont have problem with the high temperature of resister?

The resister you see came as is and a set of 2. cost of 10 €

It´s used for bulbs max 5w.

The only alteration I did was to put conectores at the end of the wires and just fitted( pushed down) next to the original one.

I got them in a car shop.

It´s those multipurpose car shops ( tires, oil, etc)

Now a days they also carry Leds and other things like the resisters.

I´m sure places where has electronic parts can also provide you with a resister 12v and 5w, only problem is they are not protected like the ones above.

DONNOT get resisters for high wattage ( 21w) because they get really hot and start to melt and could damage your wiring before they burn out or the fuse blows ( along with a terrible smell) :giggle:

FWIW I'm sure I saw a box in the VCDS long coding that could be ticked to enable LED DRL's.

Can you share how you manage to change the light bulb on the side mirror?

You have to tilt the mirror down and try to put your fingers behind gentily. Use both hands so the force is not located on just one side.

Then just pull out. You may hear cracking :giggle: but it´s only the mirror popping out.

1009493.jpg

The LEd bulb you see above was only for testing, you must put CAN-BUS leds só their will not be any faults.

I used the same as these because the LED is pointing down and that´s what you want.

I own a Skoda Superb II Elegance 1.8 TSI MY 2012 with Bo-Xenon Headlights. The DRL's are Type: 1156 with BA15S Holders. I have successfully replaced the stock halogen bulbs with the below LED Bulbs, without triggering the Can Bus error warning. The bulbs are super-bright and they look great on the car. I purchased them from e-bay and you can cut-paste the below phrase in to e-bay to search for them.

Do you take any error from canbus?

Do you take any error from canbus?

No CanBus Error on the display. Works just fine.
