Dipstick and sleeve for vRS

Featured Replies

Hiya does anyone know of the top of their head the approx price of the dipstick and outer sleeve for a 1.8T Mine snapped at the bottom when replacing the thermostat?? the dipstick looks like it has seen better days too...

Cheers again everyone!

I bought both parts new this year, but can't remember the exact price. Something like £10-15 maybe. Not much anyway....

Yeah had to do mine recently. Dipstick tube is about £10 from Trade Part Specialists. You shouldn't need a new dipstick, just the tube.Be careful when removing the old one as you don't want any broken bits of it dropping into the sump.

I got the tube for about £4 on eBay..... dunno about the dipstick itself though.......

Cheers guys.

The dipstick is falling to pieces inside too! very crumbly plastic at 93000mls...

I just notice mine is snapped, I dont think it was me but cant be sure so i cant go and shout at the ham fisted mong who helped me with my oil change today, Anyway is it an easy enough job to change the tube?

edit: is it true that i'll have a vacuum leak with a broken guide tube? its snapped half way up not near the bottom. Its getting too damn cold for the motorbike!

Cheers :-) I have bought the dipstick and tube from Ebay. The replacement of the tube looks easy enough ust have to make sure that I get all of the old plastic off and not into the engine!
