The low temperature chime works when the temperature drops below 5°C - it only goes off once. So assuming yours went off when you started the car, it won't go off again until the temperature's gone above 4°C and then dropped again.

The outside temperature indicator will appear with a snowflake symbol (warning

signal for ice on the road) ⇒ page 14, fig. 8 and a warning signal sounds* when the

outside temperature lies between +5°C and -5°C.

IME, if it's below 5 degC when you start the car, you just get the snowflake and temperature flashing on the dash (to start with; it just stays on after ten seconds or so) - it only bongs if the temperature DROPS below 5 degC while driving...

Correct - and I should have tried first as I have now!

The display changes automatically from whatever it was left at previously to the temperature display as noted...

Octavia may be different from Fabia but I get a bong when starting engine when snowflake is on

I'd stab puppies if I could make mine not bong ever for temperature warnings.
