How many tyres will I get in the boot of my Octy?

Featured Replies

I know it seems like a strange question...but I need to get my 4 summer tyres home tomorrow p.m, but I've also to pick up the kids from nursery, so can't/don't want to fold the seats flat, due to the kids seats (as I may or may not have time to nip home first !)

As the bags I bought won't take the 18" tyres I don't want to put any inside the car...so the question is will the boot take all 4?

Anyone tried it? If not...

I'll have the answer by tea time tomorrow !...

BTW - it's a hatch !

Had four 17in alloys with tyres at the weekend in the back of a hatch. To get them in the parcel shelf had to come out but, they did go in with some space to spare but I can't say there was a lot of space! I think I had two stacked on their sides and two were upright which seemed to be the optimum fit and best use of the space, oh and the boot was empty!

I got 3 17's in mine today with the parcel shelf in place, put the 4th on the back seat on an opened out black bag

Prob a bit late, but I managed to fit x4 205/55?/16s standing upright across the boot... Had to remove cubby holder and blind mechanism to do so though... oh and they roll back and forth when accelerating and braking so you'll need something to wedge them in! As long as 18"s aren't that much wider they should fit...

Fitted 4x 205/55 16 in my V50 today after changing to winter tyres. V50 boot is much smaller than Octavia

Had 4 Subaru 17" 215/45/17 stood upright not sure if I took the shelf out or not though

Bags of room you could live in there!

4 x 17" but on estate with plenty of spare space.

Believe it or not ( didn't until I saw it myself)...all 4 fit like a glove across the boot, against the back seat, with the shelf wedged in front (i.e tailgate side)...result !

All 4 are now stored on the floor of my garage until spring (which could be May up here !)...

Thanks for all the replies
