Poor starts in cold.

In the mornings usually, i turn her on and get the chug chug chug of the alternator or w.e ticking over for like 5 - 10 seconds till she fires into life and then is fine.

Is this normal for diesels or possibly need new glow plugs or something?

Maybe the temperature sensor?

Are you waiting for the glow plug light on the dash to go out?

Is there a glow plug light?

Is there a glow plug light?

Yeh looks like a coil, I tend to switch the key 2 or 3 times and wait for the light to go out on very cold mornings

EDIT - like this

No idea, don't own one. :giggle: Although I'm pretty sure the ones I test drove had them. Kinda like a filament - simular to the symbol to lamps in a wiring diagram.

Know you should wait with dervs in cold weather for a few seconds though for them to pre-heat the plugs.

Ive never seen that sign haha :)

I have been leaving a few seconds now and it is better.

But just wanted to know somethings not suddenly going to flop one day lol.

Just wait for the glow plug light to go off before starting - Like this chap.
