LOL

There was a thread about putting cheap air into tyres , " Does this also apply to screen wash when mixing for freezing conditions "

Dunno, put some screenwash in your tyres and let us know Mr G. :D

I reckon the antifreeze properties would stop the rubber hardening & make a viable alternative to winter tyres ;)

I wonder how many kettles he gets through per year.

I'm sure I read that distilled water or water from a dehumidifier is reconmended. However this could be for coolant top-ups.

However as we have soft water in our area I just use plain tap water.

Yep, I found a thread that mentions it.

I use evian® Natural Mineral Water. Protected under a fortress of geological layers built up by glaciers 30,000 years ago, it slowly travels through a natural purifying filter. Untouched by man and free from pollution, its microbiological composition is perfectly sound, mixed with a dash of Tesco screen wash !

I use Asda non concentrated which I get in 5l bottles . in summer mix 50/50 with water and add a dollop of CHEAP washing up liquid to get rid of road oil splash. ( Cheap stuff don't foam as much as the dearer stuff). In winter it's screen wash neat with a dollop of washing up liquid. I never use neat wateras this can force Skoda pipes off joints. Every so often and after a carwash I clean the blades and screen with neat washing up liquid followed by a good soak with the hose.

This stuff is supposed to be good - Sonax NanoPro Xtreme http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/engine-and-exterior/sonax-nanopro-xtreme-anti-freeze-concentrate/prod_1310.html

I know their Summer Screenwash get's very good reviews. Pricey though.

Here's some of the blurb from Clean your Car

This is a premium quality advanced antifreeze and cleaning concentrate for windscreen washer units. SONAX NanoPro Xactreme Anti-Freeze Concentrate prevents ice formation in the washer unit tank, hoses and nozzles. The formula contains innovative nano-particles. The consequence is a significant increase in the cleaning speed. It is non hazardous to paintwork, chrome, rubber and plastics. Ideal for high quality XENON headlamps and light diffusing plastic headlamps in clear-glass optic.

Ideal for vehicles with fan spray nozzles, as the product remains sprayable even at low temperatures.
