Airbox question...

Featured Replies

The VRS Airbox looks different to the normal 1.9TDi one.

Can I I fit a VRS one on my 1.9TDi?? Is there any difference?

Thanks

Anyone know???

I always assumed they were the same?!

I would make the assumption that the VRS airbox is slightly larger as it does have a slightly larger turbo on than a TDi, but common sense is telling me they are the same size just for manufacturing cheapness ;)

If you remapped yours to within an inch of its life, i could see the larger airbox possibly making a small difference - but in reality it probably wouldn't. Check out the thread on the PD150 intake pipe, its pretty much the same discussion. The standard VRS airbox is sufficient for the larger turbo the car has, i have no doubt its ample for the needs of the turbo from the TDi.

I've never really noticed a difference, though they do both take the same air filter.
