Problems placing an order for a Yeti

Featured Replies

I'm having a problem getting the dealers to give me an accurate and fixed cost to change of my Polo for a new Yeti.

I am in no rush to change my car so can wait the 6 months it is going to take to build the Yeti.

My Polo is currently valued as £6.75k as a trade in per Glass's guide - I appreciate that in 6 months this is likely to be lower and the dealers are suggesting £6k which tbh I think they will be about right.

BUT, they will take my order and deposit, and revalue my car nearer delivery time for the Yeti!!!

Why should the financial risk be passed to me? If I place an order I want to fix into something financially so I know what I am paying. Its not my fault that it takes 6 months to obtain a standard spec car...

A car is a significant financial outlay, second to my house - I wouldn't pay a deposit for any other goods/services and then be at the sellers whim months down the line.

Are the dealers wanting their cake and eat it?

How do I proceed???

Hi

Try Andy Shorland, the gaffer at Sinclair Skoda in Swansea. Genuine bloke who, as he says, would rather earn 50% of something than 100% of nothing.

When I traded in a hi mileage, scruffy Megane, he gave me a price for it, and despite the long wait and extra miles, honoured it at crunch time as well as having given me a very good price for buying the Yeti.

Do no harm to email him and ask the question.

Sell the Polo privately and do a short term lease for the remainder of the time until the Yeti arrives.

That's what I did with my BMW.

I'm happy to place a fixed value on your Polo for delivery in 6 months and if in the waiting period for the new car you can sell your Polo for more you are more than welcome to.

If you are happy to be to sort things out, email me the exact spec of the Yeti you want, and reg number, mileage and colour of the Polo and a description of the condition.

I'm sure I can sort something out that will keep us both happy!

Many thanks for the replies.

E-mail enroute to James this evening.

Cheers.
