Rear speakers?

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

First off, just wanted to say 'ello' to everyone on here and congrats on the great community here. This place looks like a great resource for advice and fixes and I hope to contribute some things myself too :)

One thing I just wanted to check.. I have the Symphony CD player in my Fabia. I can hear sound coming from the 2 front speakers OK, but when I adjust the fader to the rear, I'm getting nothing. I haven't had a proper look as it's getting late, but are all Fabias meant to be 4 speakers, or can you get 2 speaker versions too? I have the 2006 5-door 12V Classic.

Best regards,

MrNorm

The classic doesn't have rear speakers I'm afraid. It's not a huge job to fit some though, but ts pretty likely there won't be wiring through for them though. I remember fitting some to my girlfriends old 1.2 classic, you can route the wires under the carpet from front to back down the passenger side and up behind the glovebox without much faffing.

Not to worry! Thanks for letting me know. I had a look today and found some mounts for 4" speakers either side of the parcel shelf. Not sure about running the wires down myself, so I'll get an audio firm to sort it out as well as the front doors.

On another note- My classic doesn't have steering wheel controls. Is it possible to get this part, or will it be more hassle than it's worth?

Thanks for your help! Really appreciate it!

It might be more hassle than it's worth to be honest. Mines comfort spec and it doesn't have steering wheel controls, I don't think the VRS does either (I stand to be corrected though!). Would involve a new steering wheel and whatever loom is required for the controls, that's assuming it's available.

Nope, the Elegance (top of the range models) didn't have wheel controls. Saw someone fit an R32 wheel with controls into a Lupo, but the controls weren't going to work. Might be able to get an aftermarket radio manufactours own style controls that mount in the steering column though.

Ooh I see! Fair enough, I'll make do without then! :giggle:

Cheers guys! Other than the rear speakers, I'm loving the Fabia! So solidly made compared to my other car.. Should last me a few years at least! :)
