Which winter tyres

Hi All

Ordered a set of 6J x 16" 5 x 112 ET50 steel wheels from Flea Bay.

What tyres have people been using for winter?

Anyone any experience of Cooper Discoverer M+S tyres?

Are there any speed / load ratings that I need to get to keep insurance happy etc?

Any other suggestions - I dont want to spend too much so are there any good deals out there?

You need to read your manual for the speed and load ratings your car requires, I believe the speed rating can be lowered, but you cannot fit lower load rating tyres on.

Then check who has 205/55/16 tyres IN STOCK with your required load rating - as you will find many will have little if any choice available.

This may help. AutoExpress recently tested winter tyres on a Golf 205/55 16, (I think the 15" in the report is a miss print)

I got just the new software version 1989. Curious what's it is gonna bring. Already satisfied with 1985 but i love gadgets and up to date materials. One thing from the beginning with software 1969 til now mine park to pay or pay to park still not working. But i am not using that anyway to prices of parking are ridiculous. So i hope this one is even better then 1985 we will see.

Fuse for glove box light?

The light in the glove box has stopped working. I know the bulb is okay, and I’ve used a multimeter across the contacts on the connector which is showing no voltage at all. Going through the list of fuses, the glovebox light fuse is not listed separately or even as a part of other lighting. It would be useful to know the correct fuse and if any other items also tie to it, since everything else works fine and it can narrow it down to the switch. Thanks in advance!

Driver's window starting to 'tap' - regulator issue ?

I pressed and held down all four window switches the other day when I put the dog in the car from the kennels. I don't know if I've over-strained something by holding the driver's button down for 2 seconds too long, because there's a feint tapping noise now and the auto function has stopped. Do I just try the 5 second reset trick or have I knackered something?

Dear Experts , Can anybody advice me what is the part about i.e side airbag or earthing ? This part is located near seat belt tensioner ( passenger front side on pillar of car,) two images are attached for info, image1 from YouTube shows big connector connecting two wires bit unclear picture, 2nd image is taken from my car shows some kind of adapter (843 ) not sure what it is connecting which is different from 1st image , not sure if any connection has been missed out to it is earthi
