Clutches and remapping

Does anyone know if the clutch is the same on an Octavia 170PD and a 140PD?

Reason I ask is because I have a face lifted PD140 and am considering a remap but dont want to have to buy a modified clutch or flywheel.

One member has already told me he has taken his from 140bhp to 180bhp and it seems ok, but I really dont want to damage my car so I am looking for as much feedback as I can as to whether I should remap or not and if so by how much?

Gilly's been running his PD140 at 180bhp for tens of thousands of miles without issue.... I think he's up to 80k now.

Thanks for the info, sounds like I shouldnt be frightened of doing it then!

Not sure about putting the 201bhp Celtic tuning quote through the standard clutch though!

Does having a vRS with 4X4 bring a noticeable improvement to the car?

This is a follow up to a previous question I posed recently. I had a 2008 vRS for over 12 years and really loved it before moving on to something different. Looking to getting back into vRS ownership again and toying with the idea of finding one with the 4x4 drive train. If anyone has been able to compare the two, is there a noticeable improvement in road handling with this variant? Thanks

History is that since the coilovers were done, the front-left top mount has aways creaked on turning; classic top mount sound of juddering movement. I've tried rotating the spring a little in case that's a difference but I need to do try some more just to make sure I haven't forgotten anything. In the meantime, the front right has developed a creak which is different. It's a heavier creaky rubber feel to it which is triggered on minor movement/weight shift. Going over speedbumps obviously makes

I have a 2014 diesel octavia estate 1.6 blk edition. Lately, and since service my mpg is alot lower than normal. I understand my car is old but recently ive noticed im using more fuel. Ive asked my usual mechanic and hes replied with the expected answer i thought hed suggest which is weather, tyres, speed, fuel prices and that mpg is never ro be trusted. Im not taking fuel prices into consideration as im seeing my fuel being used up more. Mpg today has been 34,on a route i normally use and get

Hi all, Recently picked up a 2017 1.0 TSI. Every time I start the car there’s a noticeable ticking/rattling noise that lasts around 45 seconds then stops completely. Happens on every start, not just cold. Car runs perfectly once warm with no issues at all. Has anyone experienced this on the 1.0 TSI EA211 engine? I’ve read it could be the Turbo actuator rod linkage? Car was serviced by Skoda main dealer a month ago. Any experience or advice appreciated. Video link of said noise: https://y
