Pausing audio at beginning of every track with ipod & MDI

Featured Replies

Hi,

my first post - here goes...

I have a September 2010 Skoda Elegance 1.8 TSi with Bolero , MDI and ipod connector + Maxidot & Steering Wheel controls..

Radio plays fine from CD, and from .wma files on a 4Gb SD card. No big delays , no pauses etc.

However with my 5th Gen Ipod Classic , connected via the dealer supplied cable, all the functions work ok , but there is a break in audio at the beginning of every track.

If I let the ipod play through a list of tracks, each track begins for a split second, then mutes for about 1/4 second, then plays on , till the next track , where the same thing happens.

If I navigate to a new track , there is no break after the start of playback, but the track doesn't start at the beginning. It starts slightly in , at the point where it picks play back up if left to just play through.

I find this most annoying. A gap in playback on the beginning of every track. On a feature i've payed extra money for.

I've tried searching the forums to see if anyone has this issue, but the search engine on here seems amazingly cluncky .

No matter what words i put in to try and limit the search , I get heaps of topics which don't relate.

Hoping someone has had this issue , and knows how to fix it .

Rob.

You are right about the pause, it is less noticeable if you upgrade the software to the latest and the functionality of the MDI is also improved.

I get this as well. Using same setup as you. Latest firmware for my iPod with correct MDI cable. Some tracks less noticeable but obvious when driving as low speed.

probably not what you need to hear but i use a cheap hd with mdi with no problems (although you cant get albums like dark side of the moon to play without a small gap between tracks).
