I Require Some Thoughts

Featured Replies

Came off the park and ride after work turned my key started up no problem at all, then suddenly a loud beep from the dash with the oil tempreture blinking at me. Sat there and waited for awhile and the light still flashing, I gave the car a little run and with no visible problems. Pulled up at the traffic lights with the light still flashing. I decided to turn the engine off and restart the car, after driving it back home The car reached 90c and it didnt exceed or go under, and the car seemed to be running ok.

Any ideas why this may have happened, and that if it is something I should be worried about.

Thank you

That's the coolant temperature, not oil. Is your coolant low?

Mine was doing this and I was slowly losing coolant. I had it pressure tested at a dealer and it was a small leak in the radiator. Picked up a brand new radiator off of ebay for dirt cheap and fitted ourselves to save money :)

It could also be corroded prongs in the expansion tank apparently, or a faulty coolant temperature sensor I think

just had a look, looks like when they serviced it they put to much coolant in, its over hte max line, according to the manual this can cause it to flash.

Thank you anyway

IS that checked when it's cold? (Assuming it changes are the car heats up?)
