Turbo issues? Jolting / no power. Feels like wheel spinning.

So to add to the surprise of needing a new steering rack, i have more issues.

Driving along normally its fine.

But when at say 2k revs in 3rd and i put my foot down, it feels like im losing traction every second.

When putting my foot down, it feels like its wheel spinning but theres no traction light.

There is also 0 power. I cant feel any boost at all but can still hear it spooling slightly.

Only had the car 1 month and already full with problems.

Any ideas?

Could it not be the clutch? Do the revs rise without the speed increasing?

I would get it scanned with vagcom. Should diagnose it. Could be the MAF or similar.

Not noticeably.

Just seems everything has slowed down...

EDIT:

What are the symptons of a MAF sensor. Any quick fix or need a new one?

If you unplug the MAF and it's bad, it supposedly drives much better.

Could be worth checking your vacuum box is plugged in properly. When mine was unclipped slightly it was VERY juddery trying to accelerate - almost as if it was going to stall. Sounds similar to what you describe.

Could this be whats causing the shocking starts in the morning. Takes like10 - 15 seconds to fully turn on.

Or is this ANOTHER problem?

So You have to crank it a couple of secs before it starts............ thats not good. get things checked:

Plug in + Visual inspection of elecricals (plugged in)

The coil light goes out in like 1 second. As soon as its warm i can turn it off and re start fine.

Its just a have service from JKM, which seemed a week later i had no oil left hmmm.

Going to try get a VAGCOM done A.S.A.P.

And checking MAF and boost pipes today.

Thought VAG was reliable!

Did you get it for a good price?

I have a FSH with an alright price and it has already cost me

- New rear Discs and pads

- New front tyers

- a new rear caliper

- New console bushes (old ones where knackered)

- Top mounts where on there way.

- and a service + Tracking

Only had the car less than a yr. but i still love it.

Get it to your local Skoda Dealers for its FULL INSPECTION service and find out if they can inspect the problems you have. Skoda prices are not that bad, and if you can get more Skoda Stamps in that service book it will hold the value better.

Got it for £3900 with 74k on the clock. 54 plate.

Cheap i know and i expected issues.

Like said, steering rack, new disks, tires... so yeah...

Fun times.

Hello I had this problem my intercooler was leaking and flooring it from 2k at around 3k the revs would rise for a second with no power then it would bite and pull hard.

Got intercooler replaced now pulls hard all through the revs, I had lots of smoke when booting it and my car was hissing from the intercooler.

I panicked thought my clutch was slippin cuz it was exactly what it felt and looked like, was like I was loosing traction no power then bang power with lots of smoke

Hmm. Just shudders when turbo is meant to kick in.

Is strange... my MPG is shocking as well now :/

Hmm my mpg was terrible too, in 6th at 60mph was going from 35-43mpg, if you excess smoke prob boost pipe or intercooler

To add to the list of things to do. Swapping to a fabia has been the most expensive car change. Thats coming from a saxo...

Car just cut out down the motorway... good times.
