I am surprised there haven't been any comments on here, about this week's Autocar, 8-car eco mega test. Cars driven in the real world, balancing performance and economy, Skoda Fabia Vrs came third against some desirable competition.

My mag has only just dropped through the post, day late as usual!

only had a quick glance, suprised what came 1st and 2nd, good result for 3rd.

Will have to read the test to fully understand it.

An interesting read especially the bit about the speed of the vRS round the wet track.

I am a bit unsure about quoting info from the Autocar mag without infringing copyright.

Sorry, I didn't realise I might be infringing copyright law. Do what I did, popped into Tesco, had a browse of the mag and bought it.

It does make for interesting reading, especially as I am looking to replace my MK1 Fabia Vrs, with current favourites, MK2 Fabia Vrs or BMW 120d.

Not too sure about the BMW driver syndrome though, quite off putting.

I too, popped into Tesco for a quick look, but didn't buy. Whilst the Fabia vRS did very well in the report I can't imagine any potential owner of a Porsche being swayed to buy the Fabis.

I saw it in Morrisons last night.

GREAT result for the Fabia VRS, 3rd quickest against the competition, cheapest car in the report! Other cars included a KTM crossbow, Porsche and a Lotus!

It was second quickest (1.6 secs behind the Porsche Turbo S!) but 3rd on the test which was concerning eco performance driving...I'm glad I bought it, good tip!
