Comfort TDI, Remote Central locking

Featured Replies

Is it possible to fit or replace the convenience module to allow remote central locking on one that didn't come with RCL as standard?

The ECU can be adapted to handle this, but is it as easy as fitting another Module??? assuming the connections were available.

If it needs the aftermarket kit, then it would no doubt be cheaper to get an alarm fitted. It will give the same functionality (remote lock, unlock, and boot pop) and an alarm too.

not worried about price, can it be done?

This is the official Skoda kit http://www.accessories.skoda.co.uk/productdetail.aspx?p_no=BKA400001 but going by the picture it looks a bit too non-oe to me, it doesn't seem it integrates with the keys.

Here's a DIY guide on fitting a cheapie kit http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/77859-remote-central-locking-installation-guide/ which looks a bit closer to OE as it integrates the key with the remote (with some effort moving over the transponder and getting the new blank cut) (see PDF in first post). It seems to be based on this http://www.rclick.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=50&products_id=671 kit.
