Need A TV

Featured Replies

I think JL still also have the 28day price match TV, if you find the TV cheaper up to 28days after you bought they will send you the price difference. I did it with me 42" Panasonic, found out that Comet had reduced their price 3 weeks later, phoned good ole JL and got a £35 rebate. I can't think of any one else that does that.

Just finding the cheapest on the internet shops can be a nightmare on delivery times and you wonder if it will ever turn up. They save up a enough orders then go and buy a batch of TV's at the wholesalers before s ending it on to you. Then there are the dubious traders that take yer dosh and don't supply anything. Warranty claims are another problem with internet retailers, the transport costs are bourne by you and take weeks to sort out.

Yes, JL warranty is a proper 5year warranty supported by Panasonic, see octaviaconverts experience above.

Right so consensus seems to be that a John Lewis warranty is good even if it's slightly more to buy there it's worth it. The EX403 should be more than good enough for my parents even though I have a nagging feeling that updated models are just around the corner. Still looking for stores they can price match with. Apparently they don't match online only retailers so it will have to be a shop. Thanks guys.

Yes, you can't expect them to match internet prices, as you can't expect internet retailers to match JL's service. As for a new model on it's way, yes, there is always a new model on it's way, they are updated every every 3 or 4 mths.

I've just bought this one off john lewis. have got another samsung tv in the house which is about 4 years old now. cant fault it, if the new one is half as good then i'll be happy. saw this tv in comet and currys for the same price as john lewis, but they do free delivery and a free 5 year warranty
