Just put a deposit down on a VRS

Featured Replies

Well after a frantic cross country drive in an Mr2 (not ideal in this weather but bless it, it didn't put a wheel wrong!!) I have put a deposit down on a VRS !

Its a black 2.0 TFSI on a 56 plate with 28k on the clock - so nice and low at 7k a year.

Its got the 18" wheels I wanted and the climate upgrade.

Thanks for all the help on here but just a couple more questions - whats the best parking sensors ? The stealer has quoted a price of £299 for colour coded ones (although as its black is it worth it?) and how easy is it too fit an aux socket to use my iphone ?

cheers !

Well done I take it it didn't have a big exhaust and lowered suspension :giggle:

Ebay sensor kit for about £18 are quite good and probally as good as the dealer ones (I have one). Retroffing the O.E ones are difficult and expensive and the dealer won't be quoting for them.

Good colour choice by the way.

Is it the stream with mp3 you have? Fitting the wire is quite easy from what I've read but you may get some background hiss but if I'm wrong someone will tell me different.

I fitted one of the £18 Ebay kits to my vRS about a year ago. It is colour coded and seems well made. Has proven to work better than the factory kit installed on our Fabia II (which is probably similar to the Octy factory sensors).

Nice work buddy, and welcome to the club.

Regarding parking sensors, I've been looking at these they are a bit more than 18 quid, but look very OEM and the sellers feedback is spot on.
