Ready to order ........ but

Featured Replies

Having had a great test drive in the snow and spent hours reading the forum.

I would be looking at a 140 DSG Elegance with some extras but really want a sunroof is it ever coming back? Realistically would I be looking at a minimum 8 month wait or are steps being taken to improve matters?

Methinks I might wait for a sunroof as I will be looking at keeping the vehicle for a minimum 5 years.

Must say I have not had such yearnings since my youth when Pams People were on TOTP!!!

The sunroof makes the car... I LOVE mine. See the pics if you click on the link in my signature.

Speak to James at Allams... He said he might put a sunroof through the system if you are prepared to wait. Remember that the sunroof was never taken away in small markets in Europe. They only took it away in the UK as they knew what our appetite for sunroofs are and their supplier can't meet that!!!

I'd love the dealers to be able to push an order through - but my completed order paperwork has been with the dealer since 14 May, just waiting for Skoda to send a circular which opens up the pipeline again, allowing the dealer to submit it. I could certainly afford to wait as I was deployed for a year (name gives a clue!) and had so had nothing to lose by a delay. The (helpful) dealer even had my credit card details for the deposit, but could do nothing, as Skoda simply would not accept orders for that option. I now have to decide whether finally to give up and order now without the roof (and avoid the additional VAT) or chance it that Skoda allows orders for roofs again in early Jan. Of course, I could order now and then try to change the order, should Skoda see the light (pun!), but as ever, that's a gamble.

One question though: what's the panoramic roof like for noise in heavy rain: does the rain hitting the glass directly make a noticeable racket? I wouldn't have thought that the internal cover would dampen the sound much - and of course the whole point of having that awesome roof would be to have the cover back.

I've not been in my Yeti in the rain yet. But if my A2 with a Panoramic roof is anything to go by it sounds no differnt to rain hitting your windscreen! They are both glass after all. So there was no racket to speak of in the A2 and I don't expect any in the Yeti either.

Hi

I am in the same position, I doubt I would order without a sunroof being an option and the 8/9 month wait is frankly too long. A lot can change in that time ie job/circumstances etc

The longest I have ever waited for a car is 10 weeks. I would fear that after waiting 9 months even the Yeti might have been overtaken by a rival!

.

Could have been interested in this but without a sunroof would go for the gobi interior.
