Coolant system question

Featured Replies

I was having issues with the temp gauge in my vRS taking ages to get to 90 degrees and would keep moving between 90 and 80 and back to 90.

I changed the thermostat at the weekend and it now gets to 90 and stays there as it should but I've got a question about the bottom hose! It doesn't seem to get warm, it didn't before I changed the thermostat and it still doesn't seem to? I don't think it's an air lock as it's the same as before I changed the stat could it just be because the weather is so cold at the moment? I never really rag it so perhaps it's not getting hot enough to open the thermostat?

Don't suppose next time someone goes for a leisurely drive they can pop their bonnet and feel their bottom hose to see if it's getting hot for me? Lol

you'll need to let it idle at rest until the fan cuts in if you want to feel that hose hot

too cold at this time of the year if you are driving around.

Thanks, it went for a drive and let it idle for about 25 mins and both fans were on (climatronic was on) but it was -2 outside so I might have been to cold still.
