Where's the cylinder head part number?

Featured Replies

Hi,

Where can I find the part number for the cylinder head on my VRS 2.0 TDI PD engine? I'm curious to know whether it's the B or C revision after reading something on another thread.

Thanks,

Dan

Bump.

Someone must know!

Have a read of this, it was invaluable when researching the starting problems that Skoda couldn't/wouldn't diagnose on my old car

Don't take those dates as gospel because my car was an MY08 and was fitted with a revision B cylinder head. Chances are the engine was made quite a bit before the car was nailed together.

Great, thanks. That's the number I found so mine is a C revision. Mine is a 56 plate.

I wondered why mine was loosing coolant but maybe it's jsut because it's just had a service and it's had time to settle. All is well then. I'll keep an eye on the coolant just to make sure it doesn't go down any further.

Thanks again.

Dan

Mine must have had an engine that was lying around making the place look untidy :giggle:

As for the coolant loss -

Coolant reservoir cap?

Technically it shouldn't loose any coolant at all, after my cylinder head was replaced it never lost a drop over 30,000 miles.

It could be the EGR cooler, they are known to leak on the PD140 and i presume they use the same one on the PD170

Might be worth checking the radiator for leaks, the Mk5 Golf is known to suffer from it.
