Your dealer is right.

You can order them though and they are easy enought to fit...

Has anyone fitted them and noticed any worth while improvement.

How much do it cost ?

Yep, I did.

Was about £18, and can't say I've noticed much difference in noise levels, but bonnet closes with more of a clunk than a clang now...

Did mine too and it does make it look more finished.

In the spring will look at fitting a custom bonnet soundproofing kit.

Thanks for the reply.

For £18.00 that alone must be worth it just to get rid of that terrible noise,

which sounds like putting the lid on an old dust bin.

Yes they make the engine warm up quick too and = faster heating up!

james.

Anyone know the part number for this.

From the Useful Part Numbers thread (sticky at the top of the forum page):

Under bonnet sounds insulation sheet (As found on diesels) - 1Z0 863 831 A

...and replying to my own post...they can't touch you for it ;)

Confirm that that is the part number I got, it's technical description is SOUND ABSO (not ASBO..) and back in February it cost £18.09 plus £4.25 postage from Bickerton Skoda in Sheffield.

my cr vrs has soundproofing but the car still takes an age to heat up :(

Just be glad you have it, if you didn't it would take even longer.
