I got my winter tyres fitted today, to my alloys I got recently.

I've got some custom Skoda gel badges on order to cover the Seat ones.( 90mm dia.)

When they come off in the spring, I'll do the wheels in gloss black, but for now, they do the job.

As for the extra grip, pulling up shraply on the packed ice that is our street, it was noticeably better than before. I felt the tread blocks as well, you can actually feel the difference in the compounds between the winter and summer tyres.

That looks very smart! And I think the gloss black will look even smarter!

And what a colour. I'm still amazed looking at all my pics how different that Steel Grey looks in the various pics - and I KNOW they are all from my own car! My pic in the first post makes it look totally dull grey and yours now makes it so blue. LOVE that!

I was out in it this morning in a Fabia I 54 bhp shod with Chinese M+S tyres emoticon-0102-bigsmile.gif 2 hours to work, 2 there and due to a very strong chance of getting cut off from home, left early and spent another couple coming home emoticon-0120-doh.gif

Mind I got up the Garrowby; others turn round without trying emoticon-0110-tongueout.gif However if anybody is not needing a 4x4 Monster shod with winters over the next few days, can I borrow it emoticon-0140-rofl.gif

Won't James rent out the red Yeti 4X4 he has on the forecourt? emoticon-0102-bigsmile.gif

Yes when I saw Pat at James's on Saturday it did have some weird "Renta4x4car" stickers on the side! emoticon-0136-giggle.gif

I can give you the part number once I'm next to the car but they are £15 or so EACH from VW when bought new. Or less than £20 a set from eBay. There are normally tons of them on there so no point buying new ones. Plenty of van drivers out there replace the standard T5 steel wheels with alloys, so there is a steady supply of centre caps.

After member ejstubbs posted somewhere that his T5 centre caps did not fit I did a bit of research and found that a VW T5 in fact uses a 5x120 stud arrangement vs the VW Caddy and Yeti that uses a 5x112 arrangement. So I have to admit I led people up the garden path here! Although my first caps (the ones with the written words VOLKSWAGEN and no VW logo on the photos of this thread) were advertised as from a T5 they were in fact from a Caddy! Hence my own confusion.

So to anyone out there trying to source centre caps do NOT buy T5 cente caps. You have to find the far scarcer Caddy ones.
