any body had this problem???

when i reverse and then put the foot break on there is a 'grown' from the breaks?? can get quite loud!! i asked skoda and they recon its a common thing on the octy vrs??

any ideas??

On the VW's they suffer with this aswell, they do a rear brake caliper kit with consists of weights just fitted to the rear calipers, this would solve the problem and will be covered under warranty. Just ask the dealer about it

Weights or shims, theres to different fixes atm that are being tested, not sure which one has got the green light as yet, not done either.

im sure they are weights fitted on the vw's, and as the octy is the same,

We had a few sets of weights fitted to a few cars on appraisal

And the Audi A3 had the weight mod in 1998, shows you how long it takes for us to catch up..lol.

the noise seems to be getting louder! sounds like a train stopping lol! i will ask the skoda dealer to put some weights on then! are they doing it under 100% warrenty?

Can't say I have noticed this on my octy vRS, sometimes get a squeal just before stopping. How do weights / shims help?

only ever get noise when i've washed the car and the rear disks have seized to the pads with surface rust... this goes after running the brakes though.

i did wonder how weights helped?? but it heppens all the time now?? i have run the pads in as well??
